The Bookish Gathering 2027: One Big Book Club Meeting

A major goal that has been at the forefront of every decision Kim has made since she opened Thyme & Tome Book Shoppe is to host two big, bookish events each year. The first, a fantasy-fae ball. The second, a book convention and signing event. With the first event - the City of Starlight Ball - taking place in October 2026, it was time to begin planning the second. This was how The Bookish Gathering was born.

Our inaugural event will be on May 15th and 16th 2027 at the Crestview Community Center. This year's theme is One Big Book Cub Meeting. Think cozy reader comforts, from plush couches and armchairs; a cup of coffee and a treat to nibble on whilst you read; bookish friends... Oh, and over THIRTY indie authors of ALL genres to chat with!

We have so many fun things planned, from meeting our authors and finding your new favorite book, to author panels and writing workshops, Silent Book Club, comfy spaces to sit and gush over books with your friends, and a Kids' Zone, where children's authors are set up to read snippets from their tales! We have bookish vendors; comfy, cozy vendors; and an array of food and drinks trucks on site to make this gorgeous May weekend one to remember! 

Another major goal of Kim's? To make sure - to the best of her ability - that these events stay local to her small town in the middle of the Florida Panhandle: Crestview! All of the fun, big events are typically hours away and she wanted to bring something special, something unforgettable to the Crestview (and surrounding areas) bookish community. She's extraordinarily proud to say she's accomplishing just that.

When, where, and what time will The Bookish Gathering 2027 take place?

Our inaugural book con and signing event will take place the weekend of May 15th and May 16th, 2027 at the Crestview Community Center.

Times (subject to change/will be finalized closer to the date of the event):

Saturday - 10am-7pm
Sunday - 11am-6pm

What will be there?

At The Bookish Gathering 2027, we are THRILLED to announce we have over THIRTY authors - indie and traditionally published - in attendance, over TWENTY-FIVE bookish vendors, and food and drink trucks on site!

We have a dedicated Kids' Zone where children from kindergarten through early teens can come, speak with our attending children's authors, listen to a story, and simply sit and read to their heart's content!

In our author panel and writing workshop room, we'll have a rotating schedule of panels and workshop, with Silent Book Club times in between!

We'll also have a book trading table! Have a special edition you'd like to trade for another? Have an unread series you'd like to trade? Bring 'em and do some trading!

What's an author panel?

An author panel is where a group of authors who have something in common - genre they write, specialization in a certain area, etc. - come together and answer YOUR questions!

What's a writing workshop?

A writing workshop is where writers - brand new and veterans - come together to learn from each other about, you guessed it, writing! Usually hosted by one or two specialists in their field, writing workshops help develop your interest, skills, passion in writing!
When will the schedule be released?

We are working on finalizing panels and workshops. A tentative schedule should be released soon with the finalized schedule release in the early Spring 2027.
